Conference 2007!!

What can we say?! District 9790 Conference '07 in Bright was absolutely fabulous!! Interact supported Rotary of Riddells Creek in their efforts to raffle off a 4500 litre water tank and electric pump. We also sold Daffodil bulbs, the proceeds of which go to Angel Flight. We arrived late Friday evening at Forest Lodge, which was our place of accomodation, to head to the House of Friendship early Saturday morning. An informative and productive day led us to a relaxing evening out at the local pub. We enjoyed a game of pool between the boys' team consisting of Matt, Jono and Lewis and the girls' team consisting of Taylah, Rachel and Diana. The first game was one by a mile by the boys. However, after evening out the teams to include Jono, Taylah and Rachel (who alternated turns) against Lewis and Matt, the outcome was surprisingly satisfying with closer scores resulting. Taylah was ecstatic to pocket her first... second, third, fourth, fifth and maybe even sixth ball in her first game of pool.
Diana's highly successful speech put Riddells Creek Interact on the map, encouraging the prospect of a possible five more Interact clubs forming within the District. Interactors were also invited to visit the Interact Club of Diamond Creek to help get their club on a roll.
We would like to thank Rotarian Kerry and President Frank for the unbelievable help and support during the weekend. Without them, our small but significant club would have spent a dull weekend home in Riddells Creek instead of having an absolute blast learning and supporting Interact in Bright. As always, Conference 2008 to be held in Shepparton has been noted and is being impatiently waited for.

District Conference 2006

District Conference was held on 31 March, 1 and 2 April at Albury, Wodonga. Matt, Jono, Diana, Lewis, Katie and Taylah represented Interact proudly, being the only community based club in District 9790 besides two school based clubs, Diamond Creek and Eltham. We raffled a holiday to Bright, a crystal candle holder and a dinner set, selling a total of 944 tickets and making over $700. We would like to congratulate the prize winners and thankyou for your support as some of the proceeds will go towards Interplast.

It was a great experience for all representing Interact and we would also like to thank Kerry and Frank Trawn for taking us all the way to Albury on Friday night and Rotary Club Riddells Creek for providing us with accommodation and our beautiful matching Interact polo shirts. We are greatly looking forward to next year's conference to be held at Bright.
